No. This is International Introduction to Securities & Investment (Kenya), the introductory investment paper. Kenya Regulations and Market Practice is a separate regulatory unit.

The page follows Version 5, applicable to exams from 21 July 2025 to 20 July 2027, subject to any later CISI candidate update.

Yes. The English learning materials include ten chapter summaries, 120 flashcards, 120 revision references and five 60-question papers. Four papers contain 240 original questions, and the final mixed paper revisits 15 from each. Each paper lasts 75 minutes with a 42-out-of-60 practice pass boundary.

Chapter 1: Introduction: The Financial Services Sector

The financial-services sector connects people with surplus funds to businesses, governments and households that need finance. It also enables payments, transfers risk, administers assets and helps clients make decisions. Follow the flow of money to distinguish institutions: a bank accepts a deposit and lends; an investment bank arranges securities funding; an insurer pools insured risks; a pension fund invests for retirement; and a custodian safeguards assets after an investment decision. These functions can appear within the same corporate group without becoming the same activity.
